Sir Alex Ferguson's first game as manager of Manchester United was on November 8th 1986 at Oxford United. Oxford won 2-0!

3.A bad start for RVP-

Robin Van Persie made his debut in Manchester United and lost 1-0 to Everton in their opening English Premier League game.

4.A bad start against Rivals-

In their first ever competitive match against Liverpool—which was at Anfield—Manchester United (known as Newton Heath at the time) lost 7-1.
