Sikh family killed in Belgium


Four members of a Sikh family, including three children, have been found murdered in their home in Belgium’s capital city of Brussels.

All the four victims, who hailed from Punjab, had their throats cut, a report from Brussels said.
The gruesome discovery was made when the father Jasbir Singh returned home in the Brussels municipality of Etterbeek from the restaurant where he worked on Friday night, Belgian media reported.

Apple CEO Tim Cook apologizes for errors in Apple Maps..



Apple Inc. Chief Executive Tim Cook apologized Friday to customers frustrated with glaring errors in its new Maps service, and, in an unusual move for the consumer giant, directed them to rival services instead, such as Google Inc's Maps.
The rare apology follows Apple's launch of its own mapping service earlier this month, when it began selling the iPhone 5 and rolled out iOS 6, the highly anticipated update to its mobile software platform.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Until there is life) is an upcoming 2012 Bollywood film directed Yash Chopra, written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production house Yash Raj Filmsand it is supposed to be the last film directed by Yash Chopra. The film features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, making it the first film to pair Khan and Kaif and the second collaboration between Khan and Sharma after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The film would be Yash Chopra's fourth film to feature Shahrukh Khan in the lead role and it marks his return as a director after eight years, his last film being Veer-Zaara in 2004.
The background score and soundtrack will be composed by A. R. Rahman while the lyrics penned by Gulzar. The film is scheduled to release on the Six-day Diwali weekend which begins on 13 November 2012.

Activist Anna Hazare has said that he will not resort to fasting any more to press for his demands and will fight for his causes through agitations.

"I will not undertake any fasts from now. In the future, I will fight for my causes through agitations," Hazare said on Friday night.

The anti-corruption crusader also said he will continue to work to send "clean" people to Parliament.

He said a large number of retired IAS officers had shown their willingness to join his movement for a corruption-free India.

Nokia cuts Lumia 800, 900 prices before new models arrive...


 Struggling phone maker Nokia has knocked 10-15 percent off the prices of two of its top of the range smartphones, hoping to boost sales before newer models arrive in markets in November.
Nokia has cut the price of the Lumia 800 by around 15 percent and the Lumia 900 by 10 percent in Europe, according to device pricing data compiled by British research firm CCS Insight. Nokia declined to comment.

Bring political parties under RTI, say activists...


 Due to 100 per cent tax exemption on their incomes, six major political parties saved Rs 510.02 crore between 2006-09, activists said on Thursday, and demanded these be declared as "public authority" and brought under the RTI Act.
The Congress party got the maximum exemption of Rs 300.92 crore, followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which saved Rs 141.25 crore in taxes, a data compiled by activist groups Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) showed.

All set for launch of heaviest Indian satellite GSAT-10 on 29 Sep 2012 (Saturday)



The stage is set for launch of India's advanced communication satellite GSAT-10, the heaviest built by the country, in the early hours on Saturday on board Ariane-5 rocket from Europe's spaceport in French Guiana.
Weighing some 3,400 kg at lift-off, it is Indian Space Research Organisation's 101st space mission.
